A Lesson

I was frantic. I couldn't find another shirt - the one I had on was stained - my grocery list wasn't ready, I was about to cry, had been grouchy to Isaac and Becca, which made me feel horrible, and it was all my fault.

I hadn't heard her tell me that we were going shopping today - two days before I was ready!

Why must these things happen to me? WHY?

I looked up at the wall with a tortured stare, consumed with my own pathetic misery, unhappy, unable to feel thanks that I was at least able to go shopping for the family groceries.

Then, there, among the frantic racing and raging a mental picture flashed before me. I saw Jesus standing just on the other side of my closet door. His robes were white - almost glowing- in their spotlessness, His face seemed to shine. I, even in the mental image, was still crazily plowing through my closet, close to tears and raging, inwardly.

He held out His hand and said, "Anna, I'm still here."

Then, the tears did come - but they were different tears than the ones about to spill not two minutes before. I remembered that God was still there, He still loved me, everything was still okay.

As ridiculous as it seemed - and even, felt - to be going nuts over untimely grocery shopping, I learned a valuable lesson.

No matter my circumstances, no matter how horrible I feel, no matter that He is hurt for my sake when I do wrong, He's still there, His arms are still open - He cares.

I hope this lesson - that I hold dear to my heart - is something that you will remember and be encouraged by, when you are overwhelmed by circumstances and need to go back and say "Lord, I'm sorry."

How true this timely reminder is! It is when we are truly at our weakest, that He is strong. When we are hopeless, then we are reminded of where our true hope is set on and the He will never leave our side...

Thank you for sharing of your lesson learned so that we might embrace the same truth.

In Christ,
~Shannon~

You're great at encouraging posts :) Sometimes we all need to be reminded to slow down, calm down, and reexamine our purpose in the day.
