Cupcakes Anonymous | Thick and Thin

I love a regular work-out. I love eating right. I love not feeling like a bump on a log. But it gets boring to eat your leaves ((that's what Ethan calls salad.)) across from somebody else's plate of lasagna. Not to mention fitting time  for a work out into the regular rig-a-ma-roll of baby+house+paperwork+meals+laundry+everything else.

So I started a "health and fitness" group for likeminded lovers of wellness. Every session runs for four weeks. Everyone chooses a manageable workout plan, a healthy diet (doesn't have to be for weight loss) and then posts their goals in the Google Plus community. If they fail to live up to the stipulations they posted, they are fined $10. for the mistake. At the end of the month, everyone splits the money. Interested? Leave me a comment!

One of my reasons for getting fit again is that SICK SEASON'S BACK! Everybody is coughing and hacking, and out with the stomach bug....and as of right now, my immune system is Haven's. However healthy I am, is however healthy she is.

So I thought I'd do the brave thing and try some liver. It's supposed to be great for your system - especially after having a baby. Ethan shot a deer last week, so I asked him to save the liver for me.

Now, not to brag, but I do have a pretty strong stomach. I've eaten things like cow intestine and crickets before.

Liver is in a class all of its own.

I don't know what I did wrong, and really, I don't care to find out.

Bravely, I scraped it out of the skillet onto a saucer. The first bite was good - for the first half a second. But there are some things a girl just can't do.  I've never tasted something so nasty in my life. The texture was gummy and stuck in my teeth. Earthy, gamey, blood-ish taste filled my whole mouth. In an act of sheer heroism, I calmly finished chewing, and willed myself not to throw up.

The rest of the liver, became quick friends with the garbage can.

Ain't hap'nin.

Take it from me - there are other, better, less disgusting ways to get healthy.

On other news: Haven learned to roll over on Sunday, she's also started giggling uncontrollably when her Daddy is home. Can't blame her - I feel the same way;)
