And Then There Were Three...(Week 23)

All of a sudden, the baby has grown. Tremendously. The bump is really a bump now.
The kickings and stirrings have become rather demanding and strong over this past week; most especially when I sit still. This child must be related to her Daddy. He can't sit still for very long without either falling asleep, or squirming in his chair. ((I love go-getters. Wish I was more like him.))

Anyhoodles.

All this growing and thumping around where "the baby abides" brings the distant reality of a stay in the hospital much closer to modern-day thought processes.

The first article of not-really-imminent importance was that of a Lamaze class. So I took one. Online. Not bad; very informative, and full of handy-to-know breathing techniques. I still haven't been able to get that "pain blocking" down. (I practice when I've stubbed my toe, or slammed my foot in the car door...those kind of moments) But let me tell you; when I do, it's going to be glorious.

And then there was the matter of what to wear.

There ain't no way I'm wearing that hospital gown. None. Sorry. So I did a little googling and found a few hospital-approved alternatives that will serve the purpose, WITH a gorgeous, ankle-length bathrobe. Smugly, I clicked them safely onto the registry. If nobody gets them as a shower gift, I'll definitely be buying them myself. Simple necessity.

And then, there's the issue of hair-styling. I'm not a pretty cry-er. I'm hoping a floral bathrobe and a not-too-unflattering hairstyle will help, somehow. I look hideous in top-knots, unfortunately, so they're out. We shall see what I can come up with.

(Yes. I know I'm ridiculous. But still.)

Alrighty. See you soon!

I am glad you're looking into the breathing techniques! Since I have an interest in becoming a doula, I have also researched them and found that they have a positive effect on the labor and delivery. As for your hair...! You could go with a simple braid: cute and comfy and out of the way!!

You are hilarious! I don't think I ever thought of what I would look like during childbirth. ;) Some people have it and some people, don't, I suppose. You will be beautiful and when that baby gets here you will be so thrilled. YOUCANDOTHIS!
Love,
Mom

Haha! I did not cry when my babies were born but I looked not too spry but rather tired even though I was happy as could be. Photogenic I was not but I bet you will be.

Visiting your blog always gives me a chuckle. Love your writing.
