Hope

.. "Ahh... I've had a good life." *Silence* "At least that one day, from two to two- thirty."

Some days this sounds relevant. Especially when your nerves feel like they've been pushed over the cheese grater a couple of times.

Those days (perhaps, "these days" for some poor suffering, discouraged soul) are hard to deal with many times. Scratch that. *clears throat* ALL the time. These days are absolutely no fun at all.

It all starts out with a bad night's sleep (in this sort of scenario anyway) and comes to a climax when your sister gets into your closet and ruins your latest crochet project and ends with your mother running over your bike (that you HAD put away.. *and you sit there puzzling over how it ended up laying in the garage*). So you try to go to sleep, figuring that things will all look better in the morning. Your siblings have different ideas, however, and end up talking and singing with you until 11:30.

The next day is no better.

Now, really, I can understand your complaint of a horrible day, and I would even understand if you think that your life is hopeless and your claim  of continuing to blunder through life making horrific mistakes and failing at every task. But, never mind. Be quiet. I shall encourage you.

If you could take a peek behind the curtain of "everyday life" and look into the depths of a simple, spiritual truth, you might find yourself less unhappy and discouraged.

Let's start with "All things work together for good to those who love God." This is self explanatory.

Next, we can look at "For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you to give you a purpose and a hope." (I'm paraphrasing)

Thirdly there is an especially wonderful verse that says,"But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine." (Isaiah 43:1)

Next time you're feeling down in the dumps, take time to meditate on these scriptures. Remember that Jesus would have died on the cross even if you were the only one to save - the only one! You are important to God. You are a daughter (or son) of the King of Kings
